Autumn birding tour in Hungary
" I invite you to discover the natural heritage and
cultural history of the region "
When the
autumn comes bird species from the North of Europe fly down into the areas
where the weather is milder. In this time the Hungarian wetlands hold huge
number of wintering and migrating birds. Many northern species like
Red-breasted Goose, Lesser White-fronted and Greather White-fronted Goose,
Barnacle Goose, Common Cranes are easier to observe in autumn and wintertime
because they leave their northern isolated habitats. Many mountain dwelling birds come down to lower mountain.
Species include:
Wallcreaper and Alpine Accentor.
Join for a great autumn birding adventure with Wings of Hungary!

First

If the time allows we have a look around at Tiszaalpár which is a great wetland habitat close to the accomodation.
2. Day: Tuesday
On the
second day after the breakfast we will travel
to the Northeast part of the country.
First we'll visit the the The Lake-Tisza.
This is the second biggest lake in Hungary and it is home to thousands of
wintering geese and ducks.

On this day after the breakfast we going to visit the Northern part of the
Kiskunsági National Park. We will explore two sodic lakes (Kelemen-szék,

Huge sodic medows and grazing lands in this area. The largest Hungarian colony of Great Bustard lives on these lands. Large open steppe outside of Village of Kunpeszér offer a spread table for the birds of prey. Rough-legged Buzzard, Eastern Imperial and White-tailed eagle, Saker Falcon can be easily observed on this land.
