Birding half day trip in Apaj - May 10.
Half-Day Birding Trip near Bugyi – May 10
We started our half-day birding trip from Bugyi at 7:00 in the morning on May 10. The weather was sunny and pleasant.
Our first stop was a birdwatching hide not far from Bugyi. From there, we were lucky to see Great Bustards (Otis tarda), European Rollers (Coracias garrulus), Eastern Imperial Eagles (Aquila heliaca), and Montagu's Harriers (Circus pygargus).
Next, we visited a European Bee-eater (Merops apiaster) colony. We were happy to see that many birds had already started breeding.
After that, we explored the nearby fishponds. There we observed White-tailed Eagles (Haliaeetus albicilla), Black-winged Stilts (Himantopus himantopus), Ferruginous Ducks (Aythya nyroca), Penduline Tits (Remiz pendulinus), Golden Orioles (Oriolus oriolus), White-winged Terns (Chlidonias leucopterus), Whiskered Terns (Chlidonias hybrida), and Black Terns (Chlidonias niger).
By the end of our half-day birding, we had recorded a total of 70 species.
